Hi! My name is Alessandra, but a lot of people call me by my middle name, Nicole. Even more recently I’ve adopted the nickname Amos.
I am originally from California, which is where I began to study Design. Shortly after I graduated University I moved to Shanghai to earn my masters degree in Cross Cultural Design at L’École de design Nantes Atlantique, where I developed an app to help people learn Chinese. I spent the next 3.5 years in China working for Thread, a local design agency, where I designed digital brand experiences and lead brand workshops for local and international clients. Through these workshops I discovered my passion for helping people realize their own creative confidence.
In 2013 I got my dream job for the social impact non-profit charity: water and have since been based in New York City. During the 3 years I designed for charity: water the products I created fell into two categories: reinventing giving and solving the water crisis. Working at charity: water gave me several incredible opportunities including, visiting our water projects in Ethiopia, speaking on behalf of charity: water at the Catskills Conference, and ringing the NYSE BELL!
In June 2016 I made the tough choice to leave charity: water in order to design digital products at Hillary for America. Working on the campaign was an incredible experience. Within 6 months our team shipped 50+ products, working at lightening speed. We developed a mobile app to keep our supporters engaged, created a voter education tool to help register online users, and continually reinvented our fundraising platform over the course of the campaign.
I am now taking time to reflect on the wild ride of the campaign, working on some exciting freelance projects, and finally catching up with people over coffee. I will soon be looking to join a team passionate about building innovative digital products, so feel free to say hello at email@example.com.
